Guy Fawkes was right, politicians are shite.

So they’ve finally been caught with their greedy, grasping fingers in the till eh? Brilliant.

Predictably; ‘It’s only a minority’, ‘it’s all within the rules and therefore it’s the rules that are to blame not us’, ’it’s all the papers’ fault for reporting it, not ours for stealing the cash in the first place’ and my own personal favourite, ‘it’s okay, I’m paying back the money I stole so you can all move on – nothing to see here officer.’

Imagine this scenario:-

You come home and find a burglar in your house so you take a lump of wood to his head and call the bizzies. When they turn up two weeks later, (having been unavoidably detained at a focus group seminar on the rights of one legged, eastern european, dwarf, single mother lesbians with learning difficulties) and try to nick you for defending yourself, the burglar then pipes up…

‘Actually officer, I wasn’t nicking anything anyway cos I’m going to repay all the cash I took, so technically no crime was committed and therefore this man has just assaulted me for no reason….’

Sounds daft but that’s the precedent that’s being set by the wankers that ‘run’ this country (and haven’t they made a good job of it…) – as far as I’m aware you can’t have different sets of rules in law. So if these horrible arseholes get away with stealing our taxes – at a time when the country’s nearly bankrupt anyway – then theoretically it’s open season and no-one will go to jail ever again.

What do you mean no-one does anyway? God you’re so cynical…..

Thought you would have vented on this afore now ;) They act like fucking children man! Instead of doing something about it they just all turn on the speaker, attempting to take the focus off them.

The labour MP for Blyth always boasted "I'll do an MP's job on a miner's wages." Aye, right. He's repaying 6k expenses on his second home (and I bet its not a lumpa).

I understand all the outrage but lets be honest, if you were in their position would you not have claimed what you 'legally' could. I know lads who do contract work and claim £300 a week lodging allowance but slum it in Kings Cross dives, same principle just a lower level. Before you get on the 'but it's taxpayers money' bandwagon i also know squaddies who used to rip the system off as well. Personally if i had the drive to become an MP i'd take everything i could.

Whilst taking your point on board, I'm afraid that in this day and age (when the country is in trillions of pounds of debt thanks to politicians licking the arse of greedy bankers) taxpayers money should be sacred. I can accept squaddies ripping off as much as they can because they get treated fucking abysmally by...politicians! Shit houses, shit wages, shit kit and the opportunity to die wherever the Americans decide to send us next but MP's face no such threats. Their only concern is where their next bung is coming from so they can afford to pay for their houseboys gay lover to buy a british passport and start claiming...all cunts, all deserve a good hiding and all deserve to be thrown into Barrymore's pool.

Now they have all gone on a 3 month "working holiday" ... figures.

As as for the Tories saying that they are going to be transparent and publish all expense claims over £75 ... big deal ... lets be optimistic and say say they make only 1 claim a day at £74 a time. That means they could still make a canny "hidden" expenses claim of over £27'000 a year ...

"just take little bits of the cake at a time so they wont notice" :S

Good blog by the way ...I look forward to going through your archives
